Code of Conduct |
|
|
Golf is a game rich with tradition. One of those traditions
deals with how you conduct yourself on the golf course. We expect juniors
to be polite, well mannered, and respectful of their fellow competitors,
the spectators
and the golf course. (Please read and practice the principles of
Section I of the Rules of Golf.) Since golf began, honorable behavior has
been the unwritten rule. For those who forget, the following rules apply
to inappropriate behavior: |
|
| 1. |
No club throwing! Club throwing results in automatic
disqualification from the tournament. Repeated occurrences will result in
expulsion from the association. |
| 2. |
No temper tantrums, no vulgar or profane language, and no
slamming of golf clubs. If your behavior affects the play of your fellow
competitors, you can be disqualified under Rule 1-4. |
| 3. |
Cheating is not tolerated under any circumstances. You
will be penalized under the applicable rule for the first instance.
Further instances of cheating will result in disqualification from the
tournament and possible expulsion from the association. |
| 4. |
Receiving advice from a parent, spectator or fellow
competitor will result in a penalty of 2 strokes (Rule 8-1). Habitual
violation of this rule will result in suspension of your playing
privileges. |
| 5. |
Caddies are not allowed. Exceptions to this rule may be
allowed for those players age 11 and under to help keep play moving through
the golf course. |
| 6. |
Rake all bunkers, replace or fill divots as required and
repair all ball marks. Place trash in the appropriate containers or put
it in your golf bag to dispose of after your round. |
| 7. |
If your parent or another spectator accompanying you disrupts play or does not follow our adult
guidelines, you are subject to disqualification. Parents and
spectators will be warned upon the first violation
but the player is responsible for his parent’s conduct at all times during
the event. Repeated violations of this rule will cause the player to
have his playing privileges suspended. |
| 8. |
Use of tobacco products, alcoholic beverages or drugs is
not allowed. The offender will be expelled from the association. |
| 9. |
Gambling and/or betting is not allowed. |
| 10. |
Instigating a fight will result in expulsion of the
offending junior. |
| 11. |
Proper golf attire is required. A collared shirt is
required and must be tucked in. No denim jeans or cutoffs allowed. If
shorts are worn, they must be “Bermuda” in length. Hats must be worn in
the traditional manner (with the bill forward). The committee reserves the
right to make rulings and ask a player to leave the course because of
inappropriate attire. |
| 12. |
Stealing from fellow competitors, spectators or the golf
course is strictly prohibited. Penalty -- disqualification from the
tournament and suspension of playing privileges. |
| 13. |
Soft spikes or other non-metallic golf spikes are required
in all of our events. Even if the club allows metallic spikes, our
association does not allow them. |
|
All expulsions carry the right to appeal to the executive
director, who may modify the penalty if, in his sole discretion, the
circumstances warrant doing so. |
