Adult Guidelines

Please review the following rules and recommendations that should be observed when you are following your junior in tournament play.

 1. If you see a rules violation, tell the official scorekeeper or the tournament director before the player signs his scorecard and turns it in. You are allowed to tell the player that you think that you observed a rules infraction; however, do not create a scene. Do not make rulings or give rules interpretations. The player is responsible for knowing the rules and acting on incorrect rulings given by anyone other than a rules official.

 2. Do not give advice to any player. See Rule 8-1.

 3. Cell Phone use is strictly prohibited on the golf course.

 4. If possible, please act as a forecaddy. Stay far enough ahead of the group so that you do not interfere with their shots. Spotting shots and searching for lost or errant shots is encouraged. This one act will speed play considerably.

 5. If you trail your group, please pay attention that you do not interfere with the play of the group behind you. Do not walk in the fairway behind your group.

 6. Maintain an appropriate distance from players. We recommend that you stay 50 yards away except when they are on the green.

 7. Remain on the cart paths or in the rough. Do not walk in the fairways unless crossing to the opposite side.

 8. Avoid verbal contact with your junior. You may offer encouragement but don't put the junior in a position where it appears that he or she is receiving advice.

 9. Abusive, vulgar or profane language is not permitted. Violators will be asked to leave the premises and the junior may have his playing privileges suspended.

10. Alcoholic beverages are not permitted on the course and their use is strongly discouraged in the clubhouse area. Please help set a good example for all of the players.

11. You are encouraged to assist in raking bunkers. Please help us make sure that the bunkers are left in good condition for all subsequent groups.

12. Please pick up any trash that you see left on the course.

13. Carts may be used to shuttle players only at the direction of the tournament director or his designee. If you are shuttling players, please make sure that everyone gets shuttled, not just your junior.

14. Remember – the juniors must carry their own clubs or use a pull cart during the play of the hole.

15. You may carry umbrellas or rain gear for the juniors in your cart. You may also carry beverages and snacks. Please offer this service to all players in the group.

We appreciate your cooperation in helping us enforce these adult/spectator guidelines. A kind word or two from you to an offending adult may help avoid an embarrassing situation or keep a junior from being penalized.

Our ability to return to a course depends on how everyone behaves during the event. The complaints that we hear from the golf courses rarely involve players. Problems that arise invariably involve adult spectators. We ask your cooperation in helping make certain that we are invited back to conduct another event next season.
